Mal 3:10-12 “10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the LORD of hosts; 12 "And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land," Says the LORD of hosts.”

What are the consequences of dishonesty in giving tithes?

1. The windows of heaven remain closed, resulting in a lack of divine blessings. You do not receive the blessings from God that bring you happiness. Instead, you experience a destructive, devilish success. God's blessings draw you closer to Him. They cannot cause a person to stop worshiping God; rather, they bring him nearer to God to express gratitude for His goodness.

2. God does not rebuke the devourer - 'Devourers' refer to your debtors, business losses, disasters, and similar issues. However, some disasters affect everyone. Yet, a person who does not pay tithes experiences a unique disaster.

3. The vine fails to produce fruit in its time - you see little profit because you lack God's protection. The fruits do not ripen properly.

4. The community does not call you blessed - you lack influence. This means that no one will give you a job, no one will see a good thing to share with you, no one will remember you, you will be completely forgotten in your life, and you will suffer from your problems, even those who helped you in life don't remember you because you have nothing to attract them.

Remember tithing is the minimum level of giving. The Israelites of the Bible period gave more than what they had left but they did not fall short. Still, in the seventh year, they rested their fields but they were blessed because they obeyed God.

When we are stingy or miserly before God, we do not gain anything. We will be people who work day and night without joy or rest because God is not willing to bless us. It indicates that God has no place or any place in our lives.

Matokeo ya kukosa uaminifu katika utoaji wa zaka ni yapi?

1. Madirisha ya mbinguni yanaendelea kufungwa – ukosefu wa baraka za ki-Mungu.  Unashindwa kupata baraka kutoka kwa Mungu zinazokupa furaha. Badala yake unapata mafanikio ya kishetani yanayokupoteza. Baraka za Mungu zinakuleta karibu na Yeye. Kamwe haziwezi kumfanya mtu aache kumuabudu Mungu bali zinamfanya awe karibu naye ili amshukuru kwa wema wake.

2. Mungu hamkemei alaye – ‘Alaye’ ni watu unaowadai, hasara za biashara, majanga nk. Yapo majanga yanayowapata watu wote. Lakini mtu asiyetoa zaka anakuwa na majanga ya aina yake maalum.

3. Mzabibu unashindwa kutoa matunda kwa wakati wake – unapata faida ndogo kwa vile huna ulinzi wa Mungu. Matunda hayakomai vizuri.

4. Jamii haikuiti mbarikiwa – unakosa ushawishi na mvuto. Maana yake hakuna mtu atakupa kazi, hakuna mtu ataona jambo jema akushirikishe, hakuna mtu atakukumbuka, unasahaulika kabisa katika maisha yako, unateseka na shida zako mwenyewe, hata uliowahi kuwasaidia katika maisha hawakukumbuki kwa sababu huna kitu cha kusababisha wakukumbuke.

Kumbuka zaka ni kiwango cha chini cha utoaji. Israeli wa kipindi cha Biblia walitoa kiasi kikubwa kuliko walichobaki nacho lakini hawakupungukiwa. Bado mwaka wa saba walipumzisha mashamba yao lakini walibarikiwa kwa vile walimtii Mungu.

Tunapokuwa wanyimivu au wabahili mbele za Mungu, hatunufaiki chochote. Tutakuwa ni watu wa kufanya kazi usiku na mchana bila kufurahi wala kupumzika kwa sababu hakuna sababu ya Mungu kutubariki. Hii inaonyesha kwamba Mungu anakuwa hana nafasi yoyote wala sehemu yoyote katika maisha yetu.
