We need to stop the misconception that God is only interested in our hearts and not in our outward appearance. If God only looks at the heart and does not look at what we wear, why don’t you come to church naked? Remember when Adam and Eve sinned against God, He made garments of skin for them although they already had sewed fig trees. He didn’t like to see them half-naked. Gen 3:21 “Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.”

During the Bible period when people were asked to build an altar for God, they took off foreign fashions. As a result, the terror of God was with them. Gen 35:1-5 “1 Then God said to Jacob, "Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother." 2 And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. 3 "Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone." 4 So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree which was by Shechem. 5 And they journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.”

Demons won't be able to approach you because you don't have their items. God did not intend for us to wear gold - OUR BODIES ARE SO PRECIOUS. They are soil or minerals with the breath of God. Our bodies grow and our feet don't wear out like shoe soles. Jer 4:30 “"And when you are plundered, What will you do? Though you clothe yourself with crimson, Though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, Though you enlarge your eyes with paint, In vain you will make yourself fair; Your lovers will despise you; They will seek your life.”

The founder of the eye makeup is Jezebel (the mother of satanic ornaments). 2 Kings 9:30 “Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window.”

Eye makeup is one of the ways of criticizing God's creation.

1 Pet 3:3 “Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel--”

Tuache mtazamo potofu kwamba Mungu anaangalia ndani tu na haangalii nje. Kama ni hivyo tuje kanisani uchi kwa vile Mungu haangalii nje. Kumbuka Adamu na Hawa walipoanguka Mungu aliwashonea mavazi ya ngozi ingawa walishajishonea majani ya mtini. Mungu hakutaka kuwaona wakiwa nusu uchi. Mwanzo 3:21 “Bwana Mungu akawafanyia Adamu na mkewe mavazi ya ngozi, akawavika.”

Kipindi cha Biblia walipotakiwa kwenda kumjengea Mungu madhabahu, walivua fasheni za kigeni. Matokeo yake, utisho wa Mungu ukawa pamoja nao. Mwa 35:1-5 “Mungu akamwambia Yakobo, Ondoka, panda uende Betheli, ukakae huko; ukamfanyie Mungu madhabahu huko; yeye aliyekutokea ulipomkimbia Esau, ndugu yako. Yakobo akawaambia watu wa nyumbani mwake, na wote waliokuwa pamoja naye, Ondoeni miungu migeni iliyoko kwenu, mjisafishe mkabadili nguo zenu. Tuondoke, tupande kwenda Betheli, nami nitamfanyia Mungu madhabahu huko; yeye aliyenisikia siku ya shida yangu, akawa pamoja nami katika njia yote niliyoiendea. Nao wakampa Yakobo miungu migeni yote iliyokuwa mikononi mwao, na pete zilizokuwa masikioni mwao, naye Yakobo akazificha chini ya mwaloni ulioko Shekemu. Wakashika njia, hofu ya Mungu ikaishika miji iliyowazunguka, wala hawakuwafuata wana wa Yakobo.”

Mapepo hayataweza kukusogelea kama huna huna vitu vyao. Mungu hakukusudia tuvae dhahabu – MIILI YETU INA THAMANI KUBWA. Miili yetu ni udongo au madini yenye pumzi ya Mungu. Miili yetu inakua na miguu haiishi kama soli za viatu. Yer 4:30 “Na wewe, utakapotekwa, utafanyaje? Ujapojivika mavazi mekundu, ujapojipamba mapambo ya dhahabu, ujapojitia wanja machoni, unajifanya kuwa mzuri bure tu; wapenzi wako wanakudharau; wanakutafuta roho yako.” Mwanzilishi wa wanja ni Yezebeli (mama wa mapambo ya kishetani). 2 Wafalme 9:30 “Hata Yehu alipofika Yezreeli, Yezebeli akapata habari; akatia uwanja machoni mwake, akapamba kichwa chake, akachungulia dirishani.” Wanja ni mojawapo ya njia za kubadilisha uumbaji wa Mungu.

1 Petro 3:3 “Kujipamba kwenu, kusiwe kujipamba kwa nje, yaani, kusuka nywele; na kujitia dhahabu, na kuvalia mavazi.”
