Phil 4:19 “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God has limits in the blessings He gives us. Learn to distinguish between 'wants' and 'needs'. There are things you want just because of the desire to be like certain people or to compete with them. God looks at your motive to request. So He will give you what you need and not what you want. Satan can give you something that you don't need so that you get lost through it. God provides what you need because He protects your eternity. So he gives you according to His riches in His glory in Christ Jesus. God does not give what does not glorify Him. If you understood this principle, you would not be jealous of wealthy people who do not know God.

There are riches of glory and riches of shame. Col 1:27 “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Some people acquire wealth from satanic covenants so they cannot enjoy it even though on the outside they appear to be successful.

We must also know that God has favor and does not have partiality/favoritism. Ex 11:3a “And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians.” Rom 2:11 “For there is no partiality with God.” God blesses you depending on your relationship with Him. God can never deny you something that you deserve. He will be as close to you as you are to him. Js 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Fil 4:19 “Na Mungu wangu atawajazeni kila mnachokihitaji kwa kadiri ya utajiri wake, katika utukufu, ndani ya Kristo Yesu.” Mungu ana mipaka katika baraka anazotupatia. Jifunze kutofautisha ‘matamanio’ na ‘mahitaji’. Kuna mambo unayataka kwa sababu tu ya tamaa ili ufanane na watu fulani au ushindane nao. Mungu anaangalia nia (motive) yako ya kuomba. Kwa hiyo atakupa unachohitaji na sio unachotamani. Shetani anaweza kukupa kitu ambacho sio hitaji lako ili upotee kupitia kitu hicho. Mungu anakupa hitaji lako kwa vile analinda umilele wako. Hivyo anakupa kadiri ya utajiri wake katika utukufu wake ndani ya Kristo Yesu. Mungu hawezi kukupa kitu ambacho hakimpi utukufu. Ungekuwa unajua kanuni hii hungemuonea wivu matajiri ambao hawamjui Mungu.

Kuna utajiri wa utukufu na utajiri wa aibu. Kol 1:27 “ambao Mungu alipenda kuwajulisha jinsi ulivyo utajiri wa utukufu wa siri hii katika Mataifa, nao ni Kristo ndani yenu, tumaini la utukufu.” Watu wengine wanapata utajiri kwa kufanya maagano na shetani hivyo hawawezi kuufurahia ingawa kwa nje wanaonekana kwamba wamefanikiwa.

Lazima pia tujue kwamba Mungu ana upendeleo mzuri (favor) na hana upendeleo mbaya (partiality/favoritism). Kutoka 11:3a “Bwana akawapa watu hao kibali machoni pa Wamisri.”  Rum 2:11 “kwa maana hakuna upendeleo kwa Mungu.” Mungu anakubariki kulingana na uhusiano wako na Yeye ulivyo. Kamwe Mungu hawezi kukunyima kitu ambacho unastahili kukipata. Atakuwa karibu na wewe kama unavyomkaribia. Yakobo 4:8 “Mkaribieni Mungu, naye atawakaribia ninyi. Itakaseni mikono yenu, enyi wenye dhambi, na kuisafisha mioyo yenu, enyi wenye nia mbili.”
